THE 3 C’S OF CLASSIC CARS A collector car auction is a great place to see rare and unique cars. If it’s your first time at a car auction, here are a few memorable things to look out for. COLOR Today’s cars tend to be neutral or primary colors, but at a classic car auction, you’ll see all kinds of colors, including pink, turquoise, mint and more. Plus complex paint jobs with bold art and designs. CHROME Cars from the 50s and 60s had a lot of chrome to show off. From big bumpers to intricate hood ornaments and other fixtures, look for that mirror-like sheen for some impressive metalwork. CUSTOMS Cars from the 50s to the 70s, especially collectibles, were often made with custom features. This included extra horsepower to comforts like power windows. If you see a lot of custom work, chances are that car is truly one-of-a-kind.
